Summertime Fun

My mom lives in Montpelier which is only about 15 minutes from Bear Lake. So we made a quick trip to play in the water. We only stayed for about an hour so it was a pretty big waste of the $5 you have to pay to get on the beach. Kennadee loved playing in the water. Eli wouldn't get close to it until Kennadee started yelling at him for help and he braved it. After the waves pushed him down into the sand a couple times he shot out of there pretty quickly. He did enjoy digging in the sand to find pepples with Grandma Flo though!

Kennadee has spent A LOT of time on her bike this summer.

Our ward had a 5k run party and they were equipped with bounce houses and bubbles.

The RV park down the way had some yorkie puppies for sale. I took the kids to go check them out, even though we couldn't spend the $800 for one. They were really cute and the kids definitely wanted to take one home.

This summer we have a built in sprinkler system that gets turned on pretty often for the kids to play in. On this afternoon, we turned it on as well as set up the slip and slide and the kids ran through both and had a great time. Eli went in his diaper as you can see.

A couple days ago Korry went fishing on snake river with his family (Adults Only) and the kids were heartbroken that they weren't invited. So I braved all my discomforts and took them up on the pond near our house. It's on the golf course so it's private and you don't need a fishing license. They just stocked it this year with a bunch of brown trout. Eli was the only one who caught a fish. So these are pictures of us at the pond and Eli with his FIRST fish!

(Which is basically the size of a big minnow) He carried it around on the line until we left and then presented it to Grandma Wheeler. Then Uncle Jeff gutted it and Sam ate it. It was a family effort!

After swim lessons ended I was glad to be free from busy summer activites. But I knew Kennadee would want to play soccer so I decided to make room for one more. She LOVES it. The first game she scored 5 of the 6 goals for her team. Yesterday she only scored one but she sure tried hard.

This is a picture of her dad giving her a high five!

Kennadee is a born leader in everything she does. This is her giving her little team mate a pep talk.

She's also a drama queen. When she thinks the other players run faster than her she lays in the grass to cry and wail how slow she is and how bad she plays. We spend about the half the game reassuring her that she's super fast and amazing.
